Well, it was just my luck. Don't things always happen when you are watching a friends farm?
Also....It was thickly covered with feathers (I plucked alot off so I could see the area and clean it) and was apparently dry until the roo knocked off the scab and made the area bleed. It looked much worse after I cleaned it and soaked the rest of the scab off. I think that it was just festering under that scab.
Apparently my friend just got this pair of birds, so there is some discussion on how long it may have been like this. Who thinks to part the feathers and look at the tail when you buy a new bird?
Thanks for all the help!! I talked to owner last night and she said it looks 10 times better. I am hoping to go see her this weekend.
