She just died. Thanks, everyone, for your help. The more I read, the more I think she just had a reproductive defect or was possibly injured by the rooster. But I'm glad she's not suffering anymore.

Sorry to hear that. I had something similar happen a couple months ago. (see my post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/hen-teeters-stumbles-and-sometimes-falls.1508291/ )She just died. Thank you. I'm curious to learn what you find out. I probably should have sent mine off, but I'm not convinced mine had Marek's. None of the others are sick, and she died so quickly after she began displaying symptoms (though she held on longer than any other sick or injured chicken I've had). And her stumbling was more like her backside wouldn't work - different from the video you posted. The more I've researched, the more I think it was reproductive, possibly brought on by stress. I had two roosters together that were stressing the whole flock out with their squabbles and over-mating, and since I've separated them, the girls seem a lot happier and healthier.Sorry to hear that. I finally euthanized her, and took her to the state lab here for necropsy. The initial diagnosis was Marek's, but the lab results aren't back from pathology, so that hasn't been confirmed. She was vaccinated for Marek's, but evidently that isn't 100% effective. How is the rest of your flock?
I never got mine tested. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I haven't had any more issues in my flock, so I'm still convinced this was a reproductive issue, but I could be totally wrong. She definitely had internal bleeding, both in an egg and coming out of her vent. At the time, I had two roosters who'd started fighting and stressing everyone out, so I'm not sure if that caused it or if it's genetic, but I've got them separated now, and I haven't had any more issues.Did you get a chance to have her tested? I had 2 birds last year that were falling over and no other symptoms. They both had Mareks. I just lost a bird with what I thought was prolapse, but she recovered and then died the next day after displaying heavy breathing. The labs showed massive internal issues, consistent with Mareks. But she didn't have any balance issues. All my birds were vaccinated and we've had birds for 8 years, all from chicks. Its just horrible when you try so hard to help them and they still don't make it. I'm really sorry for your loss![]()
