Thank goodness! 1 out of 4! Haha Now I have to figure out where to get some similar aged pullets. I’m brand spanking new to this chicken world. These all came from a friend who got them from a hatchery. She did chicken math and ended up with WAY too many so I then ended up with what she didn’t want.

I’m brand new to the chicken world. Is there a list of reputable hatcheries or ones to avoid somewhere? I need to get some pullets added to my flock.
I think most big hatcheries are reputable. They just differ in quality and personal preference.

I personally like a hatchery that cares about the integrity of chicken breeds and keeping them pure. Not mixing them all up like a Sherwin Williams store mixes paint. Or one that lies about breeds that they carry.

Good hatcheries will talk about the testing done to keep their birds disease free, and then it will depend in part on what breeds you plan to order. If any places are within driving distance, avoiding having your birds in the mail would be nice.
Research breeds, and consider your location, so you get birds who will do well in your climate.
Adding your approximate location to your profile will help, BTW.

I just added my approximate location. I hadn’t realized it was an option. Thank you for pointing that out and for your advice!
