BLRW pullets...but I think one is a roo

The one on the left in the top picture and on the right in the bottom pic seems to have a lot of comb. If I had to guess I'd say rooster.
 
Yes, that's the one I'm afraid is a roo. I'm hoping for individual differences among hens, but that may just be wishful thinking. ;)

I should have mentioned they are about 2 months old.
 
Yes, I'm allowed to have roos--we have 20 acres in the Sierra Nevadas. The hitch is I don't think my 12 year old son will ever be willing to eat an egg again if they might be fertilized. And I'm a little worried he might try to hatch all the eggs if he has to sit on them himself. ;)

Yep, one rooster, one pullet.


Could you tell your son that fertilized eggs are like seeds- they won't grow unless "planted", and that you're not actually killing a baby if you eat a fertilized egg?
