Yes, I'm allowed to have roos--we have 20 acres in the Sierra Nevadas. The hitch is I don't think my 12 year old son will ever be willing to eat an egg again if they might be fertilized. And I'm a little worried he might try to hatch all the eggs if he has to sit on them himself.
Could you tell your son that fertilized eggs are like seeds- they won't grow unless "planted", and that you're not actually killing a baby if you eat a fertilized egg?
