BLRW roo, tell me what you think

yeah, you need to have multiple breeding pens if you want to develop multiple breeds or varieties. I'm starting with one breeding pen for my BLRWs and next step will be a grow out pen for them as well.
 
Your rooster looks like a big guy. I have two lines of blr and I had roos that looked like yours. As far as color I like what your roo has going for him. Like you said he is a little long in the back. This is the thing I had trouble changing. That and the chest in mine didn't have that nice wyandotte look to it I kinda see that going on with the roo you have. But I wouldn't have any trouble breeding the one you have and see what happens. I will say that the hens I got out of mine were very nice with good type. Mike

Thanks Cedar! As I understand it, long back in the BLRWs is a pretty prevalent problem. Hopefully I can either select it out or get some better hens to try and breed it out.
 
Firedove, I figured I would post a picture of your bird's brother.
I currently have 7 chicks on the ground from him, hoping to have some really nice type.
