BLRW Roo with leg problem

I have a young BLRW roo and he was doing fine up until this week. I have him in a large elevated cage at this time with 4 pullets. Now his right leg seems to be unable to support him properly. His foot appears to be turned out and his knee is somewhat bowed inward. If that makes any sense. It's like he's double jointed or something, and his leg bends the wrong way. He can stand and walk on, but very clumsily. I don't know what is wrong or how I can help him. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The first thing I'd do is place him in a cage/large box with plenty of bedding in a warm area with low light and little activity. Since he is still able to support his wt. (with difficulty), just lowering his activity level and stopping his jumping up to/down from roost and moving around will help prevent further injury.

Keep him well fed and watered.

You might be able to use thermoplastic tape to splint it, but other folks here with more experience can help out with that.

Could it be bow leg? Its where the knees come together.

I didn't know that chickens could be bow legged. That could possibly be the problem. I put him in a small cage by himself, but it hasn't helped him. His legs still seem to have trouble supporting him. He is not very old yet. He hasn't yet started to crow.

I'm not sure what causes bow legs but it didn't affect my bow legged girl at all. She could run and everything. If he seems fine and healthy he should be ok.
