We had a few CX who were picking at each other's tails, plucking feathers and whatnot to the point where they were red and bloody in spots. My husband sprayed them down with Blu-Kote (analgesic/fungicide) and they've stopped picking.

Aside from their butts being blue now, are they safe to eat?

Thanks ChickenCanoe (love your handle, btw)

My CX are 6weeks old today and I know we will be processing soon so I wanted to check. Some of them are getting pretty fat and starting to take 3-4steps them stop and sit before they repeat. It's getting close for their culling.

I don't mind the skin being stained if the blue doesn't come off when we scald and pluck.

Ultimately, I want healthy happy birds that we can enjoy after we've invested so much time into them.
