Blue Ameraucana chick growing white feathers?

I hadn’t really bothered to notice since I’ve had her, but I just recently had the thought, “If she’s supposed to be a blue Ameraucana.. why is she white?” And now I need an answer !!

I know she’s definitely an Ameraucana because she has the signature ‘cheek poofs’ but she doesn’t seem very blue..
Will she feather out more blue in the future? She’s currently 1 1/2 weeks old.

My guess is that it’s a splash chick. Breeding blue birds can result in blue, black, or splash chicks. From what I’ve seen with blue breeds, some hatcheries send whatever hatches and don’t necessarily guarantee blue chicks.

Others with more experience with this
breed may known better!

As the previous reply said, that is how blue Ameraucanas hatch out. The whole brood won't be blue. There will be a combo of colors due to genetics. Some hatcheries will include that in their description as a heads up. But unfortunately, that does not look a blue Ameraucana. This is what a blue Ameraucana chick should look like...I believe you just have a splash chick. A blue splash will be mainly blue with other colors mixed in like the lil guy I posted with the black spots. Ive also posted them a bit feathered out for a better example...Please excuse their ugly vulture stage at the moment
