Blue Ameraucana thread!

So question... I have a lot of blue ameraucanas and they've all been very light in color if they're females. Well, I have an olive egger chick, that is half blue ameraucana that is coming in very dark and slightly "splotchy" looking... Is this a sign of a rooster?

Noticed that too. I know there is variation and there are both light and dark blues of both genders, but my female looked more uniform while the male got darker around the hackles and other areas. It could be...

I am noticing this with mine as well, the girls seem to be lighter and the boys all seem to have the darker places, esp the hackles....

S&P love the new rooster BTW!
