'Blue' Amerecauna's turning out white?

I got these pictures from the ameraucana breeder website***they are not mine***

this is a white chick

(there toes arent slate yet, but they will eventually be slate whne they are older)

In the last picture you posted they look like they have some slate coloring, but most of it looks pink.

I suspect that Meyer is getting "pure Ameraucana, not Easter Egger" hatching eggs from a breeder and there was a mixup. They do look like they could be white Ameraucanas, at least, but considering the price they charge, I'd bring this to their attention!

Yeah, the top pick looks much more like them as chicks:

The ones that definetly look 'blue' are the blue copper maran's (I think).

I've emailed a couple times back and forth with Meyer's now. Apparently, "Blue" amerecauna's can turn out white, though I can't find any other reference online for this. Whatever.

It sounds to me like they're bamboozling you. A blue bird will never turn white, a white bird will never turn blue. Does Meyer sell actual Ameracanas, or just EEs like every other hatchery? From debids post, it seems like you've paid more to get Am. and not EEs. Is this the case? If so, don't listen to their hullabaloo about blue birds sometimes turning white. Blue can produce SPLASH (white bird with a blue cast and blue splotches), but never a white. Those birds do not look splash to me. Mix ups do happen, but they should at least acknowledge they messed up instead of trying to tell you "sometimes a blue bird will turn white".

Yes meyer sells real ameraucanas, or at least they list they do.They sell blue and wheaten ameraucanas. But they don't know what they are talking about because a blue ameraucana will never turn white. And theya rent splash.I agree with howfunkyisurchicken that they should at least acknoeledge their mistake.

Yeah, acknowledgeing they screwed something up would be nice, but it doesn't appear thats going to happen. So, perhaps this post can serve as a warning to anyone else ordering 'blue amerecauna's from Meyer's...
