Well actually I haven't called anyone this morning.

People as a rule just don't like their breeding stock misrepresented in a public forum.

I don't think we're the nuts here.

Ok...I've been sitting here stewing about your comments only because I thought that bad-mouthing the "english' vs the "american" birds was supposed to be off limits here.

It's fine if you don't like them.....means the more for the rest of us who do like them.

I have nothing against the "american" style of birds.....I think they're pretty birds, just not what I care for. My roosters do not look bloated...nor has anyone elses that I've seen. They are big and very broad birds. They have more bulk to them and that is what I prefer. I'm trying to find the pictures I saw somewhere of different breeds sillouettes (sp?)...... the cochins and the orpingtons looked nothing alike. I thought it showed the differences very well.

Sheesh! I don't feel like stating a personal preference either way is "bad mouthing." RELAX, folks! Life is WAY too short to let someone's personal preference get you all heated up.

Looking through this thread, it is disappointing to see the dead horse beating.

Sometimes you just have to let it go, folks. Or at the very least keep this silly squabbling off the forum and in the playground where it belongs.
