Hey all,
As far as breeding pure blue mottleds go, I breed blue to black to keep the chicks from ending up too light, which of course results in half of the chicks being black and half being blue. Breeding blue mottled to blue mottled works the same way as it does breeding two blue birds, you end up with black, splash, and blue mottled chicks. I can breed pure blue mottled by breeding a splash mottled to a black mottled, but at this time I do not have any splash mottleds at breeding age. I am keeping a pair that I hatched out a few months ago so I will be able to breed pure blue for those who want only blues by this fall.
Turtle Feathers- Thanks! I appreciate it, as do my birds
Brindlebtch- I replied to both your e-mail and PM.
