The chicks will be blue or black, there is no chance for a splash chick from these matings.

If you would like, I can also send some eggs from my Marans hen that is in with the Orps, her chicks have been black, blue, and blue cuckoo.

Is that a splash orp in the top picture? I am just wondering because I have 2 splash orp babies and was wondering if that is what they will look like.

BTW, those are some gorgeous babies.

I am interested in getting some black orphingtons quess this might be a good try even if some hatch out are blues . Where will you be shipping from. I just hate shipping, so far it has been a night mare. Box clearly marked in huge letters fragile and arrows this end up. Box left on stoop with a dent in it and arrows pointing horizontally instead of clearly this end up- which it was not. Tried express mail and the seller didn't even mark the box fragile or this end up. 3 eggs out of 12. I realize it is such a crap shoot. If luck has it I'd rather make a long drive than trust the post office to handle something as it is lableled. Shipping is extra on your price correct.

This is a black roo on blue and just one black orpington, so mostly blue hens. Or is the black in the photo the marans hen and the mating is with all blue hens? Later in the week is not unworkable.

I have a black Orp roo with 2 blue Orp hens, one black Orp hen, and one splash Orp hen.

I also currently have a blue cuckoo Marans hen in with them. The last hatch I got 50% blue and 50% black.

With the splash hen all her chicks will be blue, and with the black hen all her chicks will be black. With the blue hens you have a 50/50 chance of blue or black.

With the Marans chicks...they have been a little different...blue, black, or blue cuckoo. I have only hatched out a few of these and this is what I have gotten. If you don't want the Maran's eggs I don't have to send them. Her chicks have also been smaller in build that the Orps...
