Blue Andalusian hen not laying...

So I know this thread is a couple months old, but I thought I'd update: Turns out this particular hen was just beginning a major molt. She's been looking really sharp lately, but I had given up on seeing any eggs from her until Spring. Imagine my surprise when I opened up the nest box to see a nice big white egg staring back at me. You learn something new about chickens all the time!

Oh I have 2 Blue andulsian hens and both stopped laying this October was a hard molt. THEY are flighty and not a breed I would of picked. A friend was looking for a home as he had cancer and couldn't care for them.
Glad your hens started laying! You answered my questions too- was thinking it was the breed.

No supplemental lights- I like to give them a break. Mine are locked up - limited free ranging - we lost a few to foxes.
If I do free range it's quite the process-music on, atv the property- walk the dog. And then work outside. Sigh why does everything like to eat chickens!

I used to have andalusians, they took winters off. I lived in BLack Canyon, not much cooler than Phoenix, and also half-way between Phx and Prescott weather and elevation wise.
