Blue/ blue wheaton ameraucana sex

Thank you, i will try to get a better comb photos. No saddle/hackle feather so far and the wattles are not showing yet.

I did notice the muffless too when they hatched. One has them and one does not...my understanding is that they all should have muffs? Is the results of having no muffs from poor breeding or not pure lines? The eggs were pretty small...i'm thinking they must have been pullet eggs.

Thanks for the responses!

For Ameraucanas, yes, they should always be bearded/muffed... but just like the blue egg genes, there's 2 genes for that as well... some lines it has happened that they only have 1 copy, so some get 1 copy, some get 2 and some get none... not desirable but it can happen in even the best breeders lines... if you aren't breeding for wheaten Am's then not a big deal... at least she's a pullet, lol... :)

hahaha yes that is too true. I am very happy to hear that my suspicions were correct. The Swedish flower hens of the bunch really threw me in a loop so i'm glad i wasn't as bad at guessing gender as i thought...

I was thinking of breeding them with another type of a rooster. He is a Black copper maran cross...very dominant coppering.
