isn't that what we just cleared up? i mean, that's at least what i got out of it. this is my take:
what we call a button quail is not a true button quail, but the chinese painted quail. a true button quail is more closely related to shorebirds.
i didn't know that there was a difference between our button quails and the 'true' button quails. i thought they were the same but now i know!

actually it isnt off the subject still talking about buttons.
there are true button quails in the US as long as Garrie Laundry still breeds them. He has the water kind (the true kind) as well as the chinese painteds aka blue breasted, aka button quail, aka .....etc LOL
