Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

Hi backyard chickens I dont currently have hens but I did and miss them a lot. I tuned into the site cos I love using egs in my art work. Im looking for any hints on how to align the holes when blowing eggs so that they hang straight.
Any suggestions welcome

I just kinda eyeball it. I end up covering the end with an end cap so even if I'm not straight it looks fine.

I would suggest not using store bought eggs from factory hens - the shells are not strong enough.

for the ones I do.. I have a lathe that I put them on.. once I center it in the lathe I make a pencil mark.. then remove them from the lathe and make the holes based on my marks.. it gives very precise points as to where I need to drill the holes..
