Blue chickens thread

Here's a pair of blue sex-links. The cockerel shows the barring and yellow legs. The
pullet is solid blue with black legs. I tried getting a better pic but they just are way
to camera shy!

Here are the parents: A splash blue Jersey giant rooster and barred rock hens.

Y'all will have to pardon the quailty of the pictures. I am on a wheelchair and parts of me don't work like they used too. My hands is one of them. Hard sometimes to get the button pushed in time.
Anyway this first one is Blue copper Maran/welsummer pullet.

This is Blue copper maren/welsummer cockerel.

Lavender Americauna Bantam. I think cocxkerel

Splash EE pullet 4 months.

Don't ya just love these little critters? I mean really. People just can't understand why in the world I would be so crazy over my chickens, but I love them. Had my little blue Ameraucana come up on top of the picnic table in the back yard today while I was sitting on the bench part, and at first, just looked at me and talked. haha....they are some of my young waaay overcolored birchen Marans pullets...I know they aren't supposed to have the lacing on the breast and I'm working towards what they should be, but by golly....they make me drool too when I look at them (it doesnt hurt they follow me everywhere...and I mean whole flocks at a time. Makes my heart melt in a major way.

I have 21 of different colors, shades, and ages of the birchen girls running around....I have more that are good colored birchens...its a lot of work, but I'm making progress!

At crperdue; way cool, I did not know you could have blue sex links, that is awesome!! I have BR's, just gotta find a BS Jersey Giant, or will any splash chicken do?

Any non - barred color rooster over barred hens will give you sex links. If you use a splash, you should get all blue pullets and all blue barred cockerels. If you use a blue rooster, you will still get sex links, but not all blues and few barreds........... I think.........
