I started out getting the same chickens everyone gets in feed stores. Then I started to get interested in the diff types of eggs the chickens lay, rainbow I wanted. The diff colors made my heart go pity-pat. Then I got butterflies in my stomach when I discovered "blue chickens." Which are actually gray birds, but they really made me happy. I started out with my blue chicken adventure by adopting 2 blue splash. (a frizzle and a smooth.) I know about how to produce the blue through breeding now, then I did not. But I lucked out that they would breed all blue chicks that laid a gray egg (see my avitar.) Then I adopted blue andelusians (great white eggs), Blue isbar (great blue/green eggs) Blue cochins, (tan eggs) I had adopted a blue laced red wyandotte, but a hawk got it. Then most recently I adopted solid blue wyandottes. The best layers of the blue birds were BA, and BI. pic shows some of my blue birds. (rooster has blue cochin/LO/BCM).

I have 1 splash EE pullet, 1 blue EE pullet, 2 EE pullets that look like they have a blue base but have red leakage, 4 Blue Cochin hens, 1 Blue Cochin roo and 1 black Cochin Roo.

I also have Bantam Cochin/Chocolate Orp mixes that are all splash and blue as well. The Cockerel is splash, but split for chocolate, so half the girls I get from him should be blue/choc or splash/chocolate.

Would you happen to know anything about Asian Blue chicks? I purchased 12 from Tractor Supply today and cannot find any info on the breed. I plan on purchasing 6 additional chicks at the end of this week and wondered what breed would be comparable with the Asians. I would like to have a variety of 2 or 3 breeds. Any advice and info is greatly appreciated.
