Blue Cochin 7- 8 mos later did I turn out with a roo?!

Born in May, bought as a pullet, everyone guessed pullet but sure enough it’s my luck I think she may be a he! These waddles and the comb just really blooomed out of no where in the last couple of weeks.

The other reason I thought she has been a pullet as my roo constantly dances around her and mounts her. But I have read males can do this with eachother.

I am shocked because with the temperatures, my bantam Cochin and brahma started laying less than a month ago and what I thought was the cochin, because it seemed like too many eggs for just my Brahma. And then I found what I think was a random first egg from one of my silkies that someone just laid outside in 28 degrees!

Anyways obviously I have a feeling it’s a roo just wanted some feedback. I am truly heartbroken if this is the case!

Definitely a pullet!

Yep, that is a pullet. No male specific feathering whatsoever. Her comb and wattles are large and red because she has started laying eggs.

You all just made my day!!! Thank you so much! All of sudden those came in so fast and got so red I was worried! It definately has to be her eggs then.

I did not know about the redness coorelation with egg laying! Thanks again! This is my first year obviously.

I’m so attached to my kiddos and had her the longest sooooo happy she is a she!
