Blue Cochin ... Boy or Girl?

My Blue Cochin is about 6 weeks old. Tina Turner's comb is the same size as the others (8 others, totally different breeds) just more red than peach. Thoughts?

BTW the liquid on its neck and chest is watermelon (you should see my Silkies!).

I'm not sure either, i would wait until 10 or 12 weeks and post again.

I am thinking roo. My cochin pullets dont start to get red combs/wattles until POL. Give it a few weeks then post close ups.

I am definitely not the expert but your baby looks like my roo Roody who is about 6 weeks right now. Roody is a Gold Laced Cochin; I also have noticed that the "little men" seem to be more direct and curious than my little girls. Roody is the first one on the scene when the babies encounter something new. I have heard that this is not an absolute way to tell and especially with the Cochins as they are slow to mature, but then you can't rush perfection Good luck.

He/She is kind of young but you can still get an idea. Do you have a side profile picture? I find it the easiest to tell. I have two cochins in this years hatch, I think I have one cockerel and one pullet. He looks similar to my cockerel looked like at six weeks, but cochin pullets and cockerels look quite similar. I am not a pro as I've only had 2... yet.

Keep us updated I am sure we would all love to see more pics as the chick matures because it is kind of young to tell yet. But at this point my best guess is cockerel.
