This is our 15 week old blue cuckoo Marans, Clementine. Got her from Meyer - obvs hobby quality, no feathered legs or anything. To my untrained eye she seems like a pullet, but I've gone back and forth since she was a week old. She's our only Marans and have nothing to compare her to. Her barring is quite dull, and I'm guessing a cockerel would show more contrast. She was slower to feather than all her brooder-mates, and her tail feathers still seem pretty stubby to me!
Thoughts?

I'm not totally sure, but my guess was mostly based off of two things.

#1: His comb and waddles are much bigger and redder than the others around him. (Which are most likely pullets.)

#2: See in the last picture how all the heads are down eating except his? He's watching out for the girls.

One of our other pullets (Welsummer) is quite red in the comb and wattles as well, and she's def a pullet. But yeah, hard to compare with only one Marans.
We actually just rehomed a roo, a beautiful buff Brahma, same age as the rest, and while he hadn't crowed yet, his behavior was roo all the way. Kept an eye on everyone, relentlessly. I don't have any who are seeming to take his place yet, so I'm hopeful that I'm left with all pullets, but I'm going to be more observant of the Marans' behavior!
