Blue egg from a brown layer?

Hey there! We recently got a purebred Lavender Amerucauna rooster from a lady who could no longer keep him. She sent us along with an egg appearing to have come from one of her Ameraurcana hens. She also has Maran hens but no roosters of that breed. However, the chick from the very blue egg she gave us came out looking like a Cuckoo Maran (based on pictures). Any idea how we got a blue egg from a brown laying breed? My first thought was that maybe she had a Maran roo in hiding, but if the rest are laying age I think she would know. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Did she only had lavender Ameraucanas or also other colours? It is probably a pure Ameraucana but maybe a mix of colours (the lavender gene it's recessive)

Thank you all for the input! We were told by the lady who gave us the egg that she had Lavender Ameraucana and Maran hens, and only Lavender Ameraucana roosters, hence the confusion on how we got a blue egg out of what we thought was a brown layer, but now seems to be an Easter egger. It’s going to a friend since it’s likely a male, so I may be able to update y’all on what it looks like in the future. Thanks again!
