I know I've seen some modified pea combs. Maybe if those were bred together a little of both would come out of the breeding?

I don't want to have to deal with the single combs, but if that was what the breeders wanted, who is to deny them their original idea?

Me, I want simplicity and ease. No having to worry about frostbite, large combs to get ripped apart on fencing or fights...

I don't think you have a choice. The blue feathered line never had single combs. It's possible their is some recessive SC in there but I seriously doubt it. Guess it would have been cool to have them in both like the LB SC line.

However, we did hatch a single comb white cockerel from one of the original blue eggs. Sadly we lost him.

Sure that is out of the blue eggs? It looks like a sport white from the Phoenix line. Blue legs, small comb, reddish undertone under the white on the shoulders. Hmmmmm, interesting

Looks like this Wednesday I move the eggs into the hatcher! I REALLY hope this little styrofoam incubator does better than the Sportsman at hatching. Great at incubation, hatching is just not it's forte.

We did not set any Phoenix in our incubator. Plus I used hatching baskets and toe punched. It hatched from a blue egg. Its type and size was the same as the Blues. He roosted outside one night and got chilled. He never recovered.

Just make certain your humidity stays at about 54% (I think that is what Dr. Bramwell suggested on the video). Post photos of the chicks ASAP.

Wow... this took me a couple of days to get through this thread.

And who has the hatching eggs????
