So it is sex linked?

yes...... its a dominant sex linked trait(Id dominant dermal inhibitor)

at one point I was doing a white leghorn program that was using sex linked dermal inhibitor to sex chicks at hatch..

this was the plan, use a white fibromelanotic male strain of leghorn(had to creat them, sinse none exist till this day) and mate it to a normal production white leghorn female strain, chicks could be sex at hatch(hens with black skin like silkies) boys with white skin, I was on my F1s when I lost my birds to a greedy men and his corrupted judge

Thanks for the date. I still checked for eggs today and will continue to. When breeding Blue you get Black, Blue and splash. There are several BYC threads on breeding Blue birds. The yellow shanks have no connection with feather color. Check out https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/305455/how-to-breed-the-blues

So it follows since the rooster that Elias brought me is splash it actually optimizes the number of blues I will get from my blue and black pullets while the splash pullet will throw all splash.

while this is mostly true, its very hard if not impossible to get black shanks on homozygous dominant white birds(without Fibromelanosis) and some splash birds(like sumatras) will have their black shanks reduced to green/willow thanks to the double dose of blue(splash Bl/Bl)

homozygous dominant white and splash(dominant white more than splash) reduces the epidermal melanin found on extended black(or birchen) including shanks leaving the dermis exposed(the epidermis will be almost clear) and if id+ and yellow skin are pressent then the birds will have a green/willow legs if id+ and white skin is pressent then they will have light bluish shanks...
