Blue egg laying barred EE?

No worries. Your project really interests me, I absolutely adore barred muffed birds. So I hope to follow along if you continue to update us.

So the plan right now is to put my 5 CA Greys in with one of my black ameraucana males. Hatch out about 20 or so chicks and since this F1 will be sexlinks I'll know who's who. I can sell the girls as day old EE but will need to keep the males to see who has the nicest barring and disposition and conforms closest to the ameraucana body type. Then take one of those boys and put it in with my blue and black ameraucana hens. Hatch out as many as I can and cull out the nonbarred birds. These are my F2, right? They'll have a combination of Oo and OO. From here do I breed back or just select for egg color?

Given circumstances, select for egg color in the hens and barred phenotype in the males. When you get the F3, that is time to start looking for OO birds.

I get barred EE from my crele ameraucana project. These hens are split for partridge, but Ive had some nice barred males pop out. Best of luck in your adventure Im sure I'll have some extra eggs to disperse in spring time if you dont mind the mixed gene pool, youll possible get partridge, barreds, creles, recessive whites, blacks, and i believe one of the hens is blue barred so you have the chance of blue varriations of everything listed above.

I found the pictures, and it looks like they were Lavender and BBS (Barred or Cuckoo I can’t tell).

my "barred rock" lays green eggs

Is yours a barred /EE? Beautiful EGGS!!! Here is a pic of mine I was told that’s what she was ut I have no idea ….. she lays like a brown orange egg…… my lavender olive egger RoO and her hatched two…..just had babies ! out of the two babies one has a light head dot and that means it’s male ? Lemme know your thoughts
