The pullets look like black ameraucuna for me. I'm going to get one of these chicks in the spring.

I did end up keeping one of my Ameraucana x Barred Rock chicks. The solid black colour predicted female, which was indeed correct.

I definitely recommend the cross. The hen is now mature and lays a greenish-blue egg. She resembles a pure black Ameraucana with a larger frame, slate legs, and beard.
