Blue egg

I believe the blue shade is the shadow on the apex of the egg, olive green/ or light chromium oxide

The egg was the only one the this nest. I saw the RIR in the nest. When I saw her out with the others I went to check and there it was. She's mixed with something and I don't have a clue.

Like I said, sounds like you have an Easter Egger and just don't know it. When they don't have beards they can look an awful lot like Sex-Links or Production Reds.


Have a pic of your chickens? You might notice one of them distinctively has a much smaller comb and little to no wattles.

Well I guess I get an EE. She just did another one 5 minutes ago same color. The gentleman I bought these from didn't know what he had. He got all of his from McMurrys Hatchery. (sp) I gotta find me some Heritage RIR's.
