Blue Iza?

As I suspected, it is a mixed breed bird with a creative name stuck on it to try to make it seem desirable and special.

Just taking a page from hundreds of others before him. You nailed it. Selling "imported" and "be-dazzled" and "jizzled" and all kinds of stuff for ridiculous prices when all the while they're most just mutt chickens worth about $5.

But folks have a need to be unique and different and want something "special" so a another proverb comes to mind. A fool and his money are soon parted.

Wow got an answer!

"They are a blue copper maran and amber link cross"

But no pics... :(

That's alright... Who cares for the pics now, it's easy enough to find the parent breeds and any number of 'blue' mongrels. They're nothing special after all.

About the egg color, well from what I've read both those breeds produce brown eggs, so there you go.

(Well, the Amber link isn't really a breed either... So, they're mutts.)

Best wishes.

Ha, I bought six Orloffs from him, but so far they seem to be doing okay and all have the Orloff "look".
Guess he has a bit of a reputation for not telling the whole truth though. hrm..

I never heard of a Blue Iza but it seems like an interesting one. I have read the link and it gave me a very useful information. Thanks for sharing.

I'd think the amberlinks's, being Leghorn based, would dilute the dark brown of the Marans' eggs. It sure would not be my choice for a dark egg layer.
