I got 5 in my order back in July, 2 roos and 3 hens.
They are my sons and he gave one of the girls to a friend.
They are so big, even at 18 weeks old.
I am a banty person myself, but my sons are absolutely beautiful chickens.
By the way, his are black.
We've heard one of the roos making some kind of noise and it really is a deep sound. At first I thought it was trying to crow but I haven't heard it again.
They all are very calm, but are they as quiet as they are calm? I would have thought we should have heard more crowing by now.
They are housed with my DD's 2 red star pullets for now --
I felt I should move them when they started towering over my banties, polish, and BR's. I also wanted to avoid any overcrowding problems before they started.
I'm even thinking of ordering a few more girls next spring.
nccountrygirl,
If you're interested in a black roo let me know. My son is willing to get rid of one because we don't need 2 roos with only 2 girls and they are going to be so much bigger than any of my other girls.
I'm about 40 miles N of Raleigh.
