I really like the color of blue-laced red wyondottes. What would be the best way to try and get that color in OEGs? (Or does somebody already have it?) I was thinking of getting a BLRW hen and crossing her with my blue red OEG rooster but from what I've read the rose comb is dominant and hard to breed back out. Would a silver laced OEG crossed with a blue-red work or does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I started working on that project awhile back, but unfortunately lost my project birds to a predator.I started with a Blue OEGB roo over Golden Laced OEGB pullets. This adds the blue gene.Breed this where you want it,then to darken the golden into red add a red OEGB roo to the mix.I had mine to the point of pulling the BBS through, and was working on darkening the red when I lost them.
Right now my projects are a Blue laced Silver OEGB.I have a Blue roo over a couple Silver laced OEGB pullets.I have my first eggs in the bator now.Anxious to see how they come out.I got the idea off the Blue laced wyandottes...(dang wyandottes...lol)
My second project is a Golden (Buff) Barred OEGB.I have a Golden Barred roo over a Buff pullet and 2 barred pullets. So far my buff is throwing buff babies.

So far all of the babies from the barred hens are coming normal barred. Only the buff/buff seems to be holding the color.I have 4 younguns old enough to show barring and sex.I got 3 barred (2 cockerels and 1 pullet) and one solid buff. I have hatchlings coming up so will know soon what comes of them. Got a few blk barred runnin round...lol...

The silver and gold laced were just some hatchery stuff I had. They were Old English variety(full sickle feathers and all),but undoubtedly started from sebright crosses I'm sure....

If you just like the red and blue together you can get blue spangle OEGB. I am getting a sport spangle cock to put over my spangled hens in two weeks. I am picking him up at the heartland classic show in Missouri. I can't wait

Not me.I like the actual pattern of the red bird with blue lacing. I've had every regular variety of Blues and Fawns. I am working on a blue laced silver right now. And a Lavender Birchen.

Blue Laced Reds, Lavender Birchens and Blue Laced silvers would all be very pretty. I am pretty happy with my Blue Brassy Backs, but I would like to get some original color going I wish I knew how to make blue laced reds, or had the birds to work on it.

I really want the blue lacing but I have also been trying to find a blue spangle. I have a blue-red roo and a spangle hen so hopefully that will make a blue spangle? I have no clue on genetics.

Otherwise I might have to order some eggs because I just can't find any close to me. I just don't have very good luck with shipped eggs.
