Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Hi everyone. I just hatched my first batch of BLRW's. I couldn't figure out why the chicks all looked so differently until a gal on another thread explained it to me. So, I'm here to find out what I've got from the experts. They are 5 and 6 days old. Thanks in advance for any input you all may have for me!

Ugh!! I missed one. Gonna have to get a pic. I'll post it in a minute. Gender guesses are welcome as well!

I have asked the same question about my one BLRW. A few days back someone posted a great comparison of the three different color versions. The lighter ones will be splash, the dark ones are probably blacks and the medium ones will be the blue versions. I think mine is the black version. (I was hoping for either of the other colors!)

We have tried to sex ours, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. From what we've read, you have to check them within the first 3 days. Uneven wing feathers, are supposed to be girls, even wing feathers are boys-but like I said, it's not always right.

I can't seem to find it. I'll keep looking though.

That's how it's been for me, hit or miss. I thought it didn't work with my Lavender Orps because that would have meant 4 roos and 9 pullets? Who's that lucky, right? It was right, I couldn't believe it. 3 of these I was pretty positive on from day 2, I am still holding out hope for the other 3.

I'm not an expert by any means, but based on the pics I would guess two blue, two black, and two splash. However, I had one once that I could have sworn was black laced, it even feathered in black initially, and then at around 5 or 6 weeks the feathers underneath started coming in blue, and sure enough turned out to be blue. Sometimes you can tell right away, and sometimes you can't...

Thanks!

I purchased her as a BlueLR Pullet she is around 14-16 weeks old in the picture. After reading up in her I believe her to be splash variety. What do you all think of her quality.
