That is why I was so disappointed..... I have better looking birds.... that was before I got my BLRW   It was just a disappointment... I expected SOOOO much more and didn't get it.  It is a great place to sell chicks, eggs and pullets.  I though about hatching and making the trip, but we decided it was not worth the effort to drive.

They COULD NOT TELL WHERE YOU WERE FROM LOL.... they need to get TV We southerners LOVE accents..... takes the pressure off of OUR accents when you are around

It is GREAT for Silkies. Also probably bantams (but I don't like bantams unless they are Orp or Wyandotte or Silkie, lol). LF, there wasn't a great selection. I have pics on my phone. Can upload some when I get home. Someone did have a nice Buff Orp trio for sale... That was tempting!

There was only one BLRW in the whole place as far as I could tell. I was hoping to see more so I could show myDH what they looked like! HOLLY, it was nice meeting you. Will let you know how things turn out!

No, there was only the one male. The other cages were labled BLRWs but they must not have shown up because we went back several times to look at them and they were never there. Also, I noticed a lot of sick birds which surprised me. I would have thought you would not be allowed to submit sick birds. Yea, the majority of the birds there were bantams. I am like you....would much rather have LF and their larger eggs!!! I was really impressed with the Silver Laced Wyandottes. They were HUGH!! Do they really get that big????

Yes.  My BLRW is probably BIGGER than the SLW you saw.  My BLRW is maybe 35% bigger than the SLW I got from Foley....well taller anyway.  They are very big and ROUND.

My BLRW are probably the same size as the SLW which were there. One of the Roos entered was HUGE.

Hello! I'm just curious, how friendly towards people are your BLRW roos?

I'm asking because I have a 8 week old BLRW roo who is already HUGE! Gorgeous too! I'd LOVE to keep him, but only if he's going to stay friendly.

All of my Wyandottes are exceptionally friendly chickens, the roo included, but my last rooster experience didn't end well. It wasn't a BLRW roo, but it was a bad enough experience to make me NEVER want another rooster!!

I understand that all roosters are unique and individual, however I am just looking for a general census? Thank you!

Mine is pretty friendly. He's not the nicest roo I have, but he isn't going to attack me.

I have 10 BLRW roos, and not a one of them are mean...We have one that when you walk into the pen sometimes he will fly up and land on your shoulder. He just talks and talks..pet him a little bit and then he is done. He flys down and folllows you like a dog. I love my boys!

How old are BLRW when their combs start coming in? We have what I thought was a trio at around 9 weeks but now I think they may be all pullets...
