Not sure what age bought 2 roos about a month ago suppost to be a roo but this one is a bit shorter and has a body of a hen. I suspect this one is 7 or 8 months.

It could just be the angle , but they look like saddle feathers, but if it's 8 months old it would have been crowing by now.

Yea I've only raised RIR but I saw these beautiful birds for sale on Craigslist and went and picked them up. They are soo tame and quiet, but this one just hasn't grown quite as fast as his brother and my mother kept telling me its a hen. Now it's confirmed and I just need to wait on my hatching eggs to start hatching for thier mates.

Some need a good 18 months for growing. They will both get bigger and fill out more..pretty color on this young bird already..he will get darker red as he matures. Great craigs list find. He looks to have a nice Wyandotte type coming in also. Nice leg color. His tail feathers look to be nice and wide also.
