Can different comb types be linked to the speed of feathering? i.e. is she feathering out faster because she has a single comb and not a rose comb?

These were mine that hatched from the same seller last month. All of the dark ones are blue now.I got the eggs from eBay, seller howcum. Of all of my shipped eggs, these were the BEST in regards to packaging and chick vigor as well as %developed and hatched.

Mine are all rose combed and pullets all have been feathering faster than cockerels. Im no expert but I don't think comb has any effect on the feathering speed. Can different comb types be linked to the speed of feathering? i.e. is she feathering out faster because she has a single comb and not a rose comb?

I have never heard of that correlation either. The pattern birds feather in MUCH slower than solid birds. There is also a slow feathering gene the K gene. Most of the time you would not want to breed birds with the K gene.

No that is not a pattern. My SLW feather much slower than even the BLRW. My barred rocks also feather really slow. I have one cockerel that is about 6 weeks old and he has NO FEATHERS NAKED Funny looking too. My Silver Penciled Wyandotte bantams don't really feather slow.... I have not noticed any of my penciled ones feather in slow.... I have SPPR and Partridge Rocks too.
I have lavender Ams and Isabelle Leghorns and they have the K gene. They just feather slow and I don't use those for breeding it is not a good thing..... Some of my Marans have it too. you can use that gene to make them feather sexable but to me it is not worth it as all the ones with slow feathering should not be used in breeding.
