Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Pics
I know this has been asked before, but who is currently raising Bantam Blue Laced Red Wyandottes? I just hatched my first 5 and would love to chat with anyone else raising them

I would love to make a thread about them, but don't know if anyone will join in or if it will just die LOL!

I'm here to show off my newly hatched BLRW chicks. There are 7 chicks & they are 6 days old...
shanshan51 these are from your hatching eggs

Any guesses as to what I've got...

I'm betting these two are cockerels...they are feathering in slower, are bigger, and just act roo-ish

Hoping this is my pretty BLUE girl...

My guesses are as follows

Back left leaning to female, back right male, front right female

this to me looks female due to less brown in wing

Standing female, back right male

Wow Leah I am so glad you got a great hatch! So out of 12 shipped eggs you got 7 chicks right? That is awesome :) I am a happy grandma lol

You have 3 splashes, two dark blues, and maybe a black or a very dark blue. Would have liked to see more blues though.

Yes possibly boys.

Most likely because the legs are smaller and feathering faster a girl. This one is looking really nice for lacing!!!!! Congrats

Can I ask a question? I want to pick your brains! So the 3 lighter chicks will be splashes? And how old will the chicks be before you can tell the difference between the black and blue

These are my first BLRWs, can you guys tell me what you think of them? Especially gender-wise? I picked them up from a local breeder, and I must say, I lucked out. She actually ended up being a friend of my dads and wanted some hatching eggs from my LF Cochins, which is excellent. Otherwise I would have had to sell my soul to purchase them! Anyway, I think they're beautiful, I don't show or anything but I like having nice looking birds in my yard :)

I ended up with 3 splash, 1 blue and 1 black. They're super sweet birds, now I understand why Wyandottes are so popular!
