How old were yours before they laid? I swear mine wait till 7-8 months.

I had 1 other in lockdown too and it has pipped! Yeah!

These are from the Foley breeders I bought. They were all hens and laying. I think there is one girl holding out on the roo... maybe not... they have blood rings that means they were fetile right?

Just paid for my Foley birds!!! The trio should be coming in this week!!! Very very excited.
I'm right there with you with the excitement. I have a trio coming from him tomorrow! He's been holding onto them for me for a while because it's been too hot to ship. I can't wait to see them- he says the cockerel is the best one he's letting go from this year...says he is a "superstar". Now I'm worried he'll make my other birds look terrible lol!

I hope he doesn't say stuff like that to everyone lol. He said something similar about the birds I am getting but not in those exact words. I am waiting for him to get shipping boxes as he lost the goose box he was going to use. But he said I should have them by mid next week at latest!

It kind of works out good because I think the longer you wait to buy them from him in the season the better the birds as he has held them longer through his cull process!

I am sure the BLRW I got from him was a show winner, he is the only one that has a metal leg tag. They have to have that to show. I also know I picked them from his breeding pen and I got the best roo in that pen and some of the best hens in there too. He may have had other single mating pen in his barn I didn't get to see. They are probably nice roos, but I would guess they are younger. My hens some are over 2 years old and so is the roo.... they stuck around a LONG time.

Since we are clearing out his OLD stock

he must have some REALLY NICE REPLACEMENTS to take over the breeding for next year. It is just going to be a smaller pen next year.

I was snooping on Ebay and someone had some Foley birds.... she got them as chicks from him. Her hen looked like a CLONE of the one in my Avatar, only younger.

If everything works out this year, I may see if I can get more next fall.... I LOVE these birds!

I know what I got from him are about 5-6 months old. Def not adults nor close to laying.
