not sure how they came to be..... I know the GLW don't have the mahogany gene like BLRW. hum.... might have to go look that up. I would think it would be easier to get some BLRW and work from there. That would be a long row to hoe from scratch.

A silly question? I have GLW's and SLW's . How do I get the BLRW's ?

Crossing a SLW cock to a GLW hen produces sex links. you get yellow/glod laced cockerels and silver laced pullets. The other way you get yellow/gold laced cockerels and gold laced pullets. I thought BLR Cornish were used to create the BLRW but I could be wrong. I'd thing it was something with a single comb since single combs still pop up.

basically, the blue laced red is a gold laced, add blue, add mahogany. the mahogany may come from the partridge, but not positive about that. or it could have come from the rhode island red (which would also explain single combs?)

I think single combs pop up in ALL wyandottes. Wyandotte came from cochins and Sebrights. Maybe something else too.

That's a lot of confusion, thanks everyone for the input, I wanna get some BLRW's , they're beautiful
