Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I guessed pullet due to even lacing, not too think of legs, fully feathered head and neck and very pale comb/wattles. Most wyandotte roos Ive seen get pink pretty early.

Those wanting help with gender we need pics from the top of the bird front of the bird and the WING. The way the color comes in help tell roos and pullets. Combs are tricky with Wyandottes, they help but not perfect. In fact my roo guy just informed me he has some pullets laying eggs from my pens.... probably picked them based on COMBS. NOT ACCURATE. I have some white wyandottes that are 5 months old and I still can't tell

BTW the roo guy said I can come look and take anything I want back

sweet guy. I am not going to take ALL his pullets, just a few that I can use... like WYANDOTTES

Hey everyone i have a question for you. Im Breeding another blue line and wanted to ask if the blue laced red wyandotte breed the same.

Im working with Blue Wheatens Ameraucana If you breed two BWA togeather you will get Splash Wheatens, Blue Wheatens and Wheatens. But if you breed a Splash Wheaten with a Wheaten you will get 100% Blue Wheatens.

Does the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte work the same. Get a bunch of BLRW chicks from BLRW x BLRW. Once they grow out if you take one of the Splashes and breed it to one of the Black laced Red Wyandotte will you get all Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.

yes, the same blue genetics hold true with BLRW

Quote: at only 5 weeks, with a comb and visible wattles, i'd say roo... my hens didn't have that much at 5 months old.

also, donna, hens have more complete lacing all over, not the narrow stripe this guy's showing. my silver laced cochin roos show a narrow strip in the first feathers then clear out as they mature. sorry for the non-wyandotte pics, but i don't have any other pics showing the good contrast like this.

this was one at about 4 weeks, and the next pic at about 3 months...

roo to the back, pullet in front of him.
