Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Yea apparently the only other bird I've lost was the best bcm roo I've ever had. Good thing I keep two on hand. They're staying in the coop until I can get a get a permit (if I even can) from my local conservation officer. I love the owls but enough is enough now that it has found an easy food source something has to be done.

My 3 week old BLRW is looking rooish is he not? His comb is already much wider and more prominent than his "sister" who looks to be already developing the blue laced pattern. I just find overall his coloring and pattern is roo. Opinions?

Pic 2-thinking this is my BLRW pullet. See earlier post which I'm thinking is roo. Opinions please. 3 weeks old.

I think both might be roos. I am pretty sure the top one is NOT a BLRW. I have never seen one feather in like that. They should not have any white. The splash is lacking the mahogany gene I think. The red is more orange in color and should be much darker.

I would assume you got them from the same place and if that is the case I would also assume neither is pure breed BLRW variety.

Can anyone help me figure out what my BLRW chicks will look like, as far as coloring, sex not important.

Chick 1, almost a cream/buff color, with specs on the wing feathers, is this the lighter shade, or the splash?

Chick 2, overall reddish colored, with multiple shades if red

Chick 3, I would say Is dark chipmunk colored With browns and creams

Chick 4, is Light chipmunk colored with more creams than browns.

This is my new blue laced red rooster and splash rooster, what do you guys think of them? I'm new to the breed. They are said to be 18 weeks old.
Right now I only have two blue roosters, I have some Gold laced, Silver laced and Columbian pullets. Would breeding these roosters to any of those colored hens be a good idea?

The birds are too young to evaluate especially if you are considering using them for breeding. There are not enough pictures to even hazard a guess about potential possibilities. I can see some potential from dark the lacing. I am not recommending breeding, just saying he might have potential. They take 12-18 months to mature. I wish there were more pictures of him. Front, side, over the top, rear, and comb close up. The splash looks orange in the one picture. Any form of orange should be avoided. Even deep dark orange. Body structure is important first. Is the bird large enough? Does it have enough dept? Can you put your hand comfortably between the legs? Does it have the potential for the Wyandotte type? The leg color looks good in the picture. Do you have the SOP?
