Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Meyer sells sexed blrw while McMurray only sells straight run. I have 2 pullets left from Meyer (sold all the straight combs and had 2 drown themselves before I got the lid on the water bucket). I ordered 8 (7 pullets, 1 cockerel) and got all splash pullets and the cockerel was blue. 3 of the pullets had straight combs. Expect splash chicks. Lacing and color and type won't be up to the SOP but they will be lovely to look at for a little backyard eye candy.

I'll see if I can get a pic to upload.

A local chicken friend brought me 2 cockerels she hatched from me..... I have a question.... They both have nice lacing on the WINGS.... would that make them good pullet breeders? If not what makes a good pullet breeder??????

This is the one girl Bantam BLRW Splash that I kept from what I got from Meyer Hatchery. I got 6 from straight run since they do not sex bantams. 4 were boys, only 1 of which had any blue lacing. It would still probably be a splash when mature. The girl I kept had the best lacing, the girl I let go probably had a little better type (wider in chest).

I am not a breeder, just want pretty egg layers and yard candy.

She is almost white with hints of blue. She is 23 weeks in that pic.

Guy had a trio of BLRW. He was trying sell them to me, and I went over to check them out. He kept saying they was dark blues and such, and the rooster was show quality( worst of the bunch) doesn't even look like a wyandott... but the hens are ok. One hen has good type and really nice lacing. Only prob is her tail isnt wide enough. But I can still breed her to a nice male. The other has ok lacing but good type..

Oh I think she's gorgeous!:) I have bantams, but I haven't gotten a splash pullet to hatch....maybe this spring. Very pretty yard candy indeed.
