Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Thank you! I feel a little more encouraged haha. I will say chick two in person does have a dark blue/gray to it but it's hard to see
Here are some of my Blues when they were 3 weeks old

the blue feathers around their legs and butts is a dead giveaway that they are blue.
a black will have all black feathers in this area

the lacing first comes in on their chest

(ignore the word purple, that was the color of her leg band)

same girl more feathered out but not fully there yet

Oh thank you that helps a lot, she's beautiful. I hope my three with the tails are girls!

I love this breed! Their feathers will change MANY times as they mature, it's very fun to watch.

I am not sure about the tails on girls thing. That might work for some specific genetic lines, but not all. For my line, I watch their comb and wattle size to sex them.

think mine are Splash to blueish Splash. I ordered hatching eggs from a show quality line here in NC to try to get nicer body and color

Splash are beautiful too! I particularly love the light blue splash over pure white myself. Are you going to breed them? Any pics? :D
posted some before. Will toss some up this weekend. Trying to get some blue and black to maybe breed next spring. Our current Roo is starting to show that he will either be a lighter blue or darker splash. But,we are only going to breed English Jubilee on our property and any others will be at a friend's country place. We are allowed roosters in city limits but want only one or two to generally keep the peace and prevent crowing contests between Alphas in different flocks. We also have a mixed hen pen because we like differet breeds. Buff, SLW, GLW, English Blue, BR, and a Splash and/or Blue will be in there. Currently we are reestablishing our flicks after moving and selling previous birds. We thought we woukd hold off on birds again until our final move in a few years but couldn't wait. We missed them
