And why would any blue be coming in on a black laced hen?

He's blue but rather light, she appears to be a dark splash. A better picture of her would be helpful but I think that's correct. The blue gene is a "leaky gene" so the blue can range from dark to rather light and splash can be relatively dark or almost white. Your chicks out of this pair would be 50% splash and 50% blue but both blue and splash would be on the lighter end of the spectrum.

Do you think? I had a rooster like that and couldn't decide but more than half of my chicks were splash so I'm pretty sure he was just a dark splash. Anyone else want to weigh in?
