that refers to the stippling or "dottes" that exist in the primary color inside the lacing of laced feathers for laced varieties. This is often accompanied by over laced or too thick of lacing. If you are lacking good lacing you can use a mossy hen to help correct the problem. Fow Columbian pattern it reffers the appearance of black or partridge type black pattern in teh back of the hen. Once again this is usefull in getting good saddle feather color and striping in the males.

Look how much your boy in the first picture looks so much like mine, especially the head! He is out of a Foley hen. Was yours yellow as a chick like my guy was? I was shocked when he hatched out all yellow and then turned blue!

Your birds look really nice!

Why can't I get BLRW or Heritage Delaware to hatch for me?

. I've tried the BLRW from 3 different sources and the Delaware from 1 source 2x and they make it to lock down and quit. I have more BLRW in the incubator now that need to be candled but haven't had time b/c of moving heifers and building breeding pens. Any advice? I've had a lot of luck with other breeds.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Yours are some I need to candle. Only 1 of the Silkie eggs is growing and had some blood rings. There were some detached air sacks in the BLRW eggs but I need to candle for growth and development. When you see the plants I'm sending you can decide if you want to send more. All I can say is the box is buldging.
