Did ya mean so I know which one is a pullet and which is a Roo? I thought the note was for both being pullets, LOL
You said you had trouble telling them apart? One is tagged, the other isn't LOL!
I switched over to blue and black wyandottes this year. I have over a 100 right now and am going to keep all through the winter and cull in the spring. Plus, my dozen blr, the EEs and production reds. Whew!
I use different colored non numbered bands to tiere my birds. One for the best looking juveniles pullets and cockerels, another color band for the "maybes", and yet a third colored band for the future generic layers (these in my case having black faces and inverted combs) and cockerels that will be culled. If nothing else it gives me a visual guideline of "what the heck was I thinking" once the juvies reach maturity. Or maybe a pleasant surprise.
