Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, where to order from?

I think this forum clearly welcomes the backyard flock owners who aren't breeders. They are without a doubt the majority here.

In this case an individual was making a claim as to the quality of their birds based on show wins & those "wins" obviously occured in a show not governed by any accepted standards. You can't have it both ways. If you're not interested in standard bred birds fine, there are any number of valid reasons to keep chickens. That said, if you're going to boast of show wins you may get called if the "show" lacks objective validity.

As to replying under a user name it sounds like you're suggesting I'd answer differently if people knew who I was. Not really the case-my name is William Post, most people call me Bill. Who are you fasbendera?

I got five free from a breeder in MN and ended up with one hen which was VERY sweet and friendly...she is around 5-6 lbs now but is not a yr old yet. Very beautiful, sweet birds

Since it isn't a APA sanctioned bird than what difference does it make if it is an APA sanctioned show. There are alot of people on this forum who just have backyard chickens. We don't love them any less than the purebreds. We appreciate everyones love of the chickens and the pride they have in their birds.

I wasn't at the show but to say that her bird

Nyreds Reply: "Wasn't judged by any formal standards, not sanctioned by any organization & someone with no poultry knowledge gives an award to "the best looking bird"".

That may have been an attempt at a joke but it was mean and uncalled for. Most days I love this forum and mostly everyone is so nice but there are a few that find it is much easier to not think about their post as you type your reply under a username and you aren't face to face with a person.

When I read posts like that I want to find another forum that welcomes the backyard flock owners that only have a small flock and we aren't breeders but still respect the beauty of all chickens.

If it's a show only judged by the type of comb or if the bird has the most feathers on it's feet it is very misleading to say they got award winning birds from a hatchery. Those are the type of shows that don't really mean anything except to the bird's owner.
