18 days ago i set 10 eggs from a pen where i have mottled cochins and lavender cochins, there are males and females of both colors, so there are good chances of getting pure colored chicks. 7 of those were fertile, 1 quit. but anyways, i turned the turning off and put the humidity up a little ( i like to leave it around 55-60%) so i am hoping that some of these will ahtch, i will post pictures of the little ones once they hatch!
wish me luck!

PS> if anyone has tried this crossing before, let me know what your results were!

after i get a good amount of these blue/lav mottled chicks, my next project will be mottled frizzles and lavender frizzles!

ive had bad luck on mylast few hatches, very low hatch rates, all the eggs make it to around day 19 then die, i bought a new hydrometer and thermometer and calibrated my incubator, which was giving me incorrect readings, and i hoped that solved the problem before its too late, i will let you all know how it goes, as soon as these eggs are out, i have two egg cartons full of the same eggs along with some huge green eggs from my 5 year old EE who i thought had retired

we have 1 pip that i can see, i think there might be a pip on an egg that cracked and has candlewax on the crack, although it might just be from the orgonal crack

3 have hatched, 1 has pipped, and two remain idle, the egg that had been cracked at 2.5 weeks and covered in candle wax hatched healthily
