Not the usual question for this section, but I thought it was more appropriate than some of the other parts of the forum.

I know that they're mixed breeds. I know that the two with the headspots are male because of sex-linking and the others, at one week tomorrow, are too young.

My problem is telling how many blues and how many blacks -- I'm just not that good yet at discerning between dark blue and black in chick down.

There are 7 chicks total. Here are individual and group shots:

I'm seeing more black than blue, so maybe I'm not the one who should be posting here.
Was there any blue in the parent stock, or in the parents lineage?
Sometimes on the blue/black, you won't be able to tell until they start growing feathers.

One of my males is a Blue Australorp. I'm not certain if I set any eggs from the Blue Australorp females because the hens were just coming out of molt and the pullets were just starting to lay. I know I didn't set any tiny, new-layer eggs, but it's hard to tell which of my hens/senior pullets laid which egg.

Ok. At least the one in the first picture looks blue. I'm not a good teller on the others though. :P

I am not the best at this so don't rely on my opinion, but I'd say the first is blue, second is dark blue, three is black, four looks blue, and five, six, and seven, look black.
I see three blues in the group pics I believe.
Wait for the others to weigh in too though.
