Blue Orpington Cockerel-The Boy Weighs a TON

Thanks, Julie-I'd love to see it. I love Suede. He's a sweetie, even though he hates to be caught, he'll let me hold him and pet him. Till my arms wear out, that is. Here is a pic I took of him today:

What a beauty!
If my DH would only let me enclose the rest of the backyard.....

Okay, I am going to try and post a picture of one of the Roos who could be Suedes Dad. This is Charcoal

And this one is Blue Boy.

Here are a young Splash and Blue Cockeral. The blue is slighlty younger. The Splash has some awesome colors.

Wow, Julie, I bet Blue Boy is Suede's daddy. Charcoal is much darker, huh? Nice, nice boys. Tell me, do yours have an odd crow? Poor Suede, LOL, we thought he'd never get it right and it's still very distinctive and very deep voiced, not at all like my Barred Rocks. I love the splash colors, too, but darn, I just wish I could hatch a splash PULLET!

They have very Baritone Crows. Well, Blue Boy was sick and i thought I was going to lose him but I have nursed him back but He still doesn't have his beautiful crow back yet. It is shrill right now but getting better. He lost weight but is putting it back on. I don't think he hardly ate anything for 3 days. Just drank and enormous amt. He is such a good Roo. Has a special place in Dh and my heart. I can't wait to see what he looks like in another year. I have Orps from Jerab due to hatch Fri and I have 5 beautiful Black Orps from a breeder in Fl. I am going to do some Trios for breeding in the near future. Start breeding and culling for the best looking for size and type.

Well, I don't know if it was a combination of things or not. It started when Dh put Sevins dust in the pen and on some of the chickens. He seemed to have a respiratory problem the next day. He was gurgling so I wormed him too. Gave him some Terrimycin for a few days and Electrolytes. Sort kill'em/cure'em type deal. He seems fine now and breeding the hens again and ruling the Roost.
