I have a hatch that is from a blue orp roo over blue and black orp hens. I had a gold laced wyandotte that kept jumping the fence to lay her eggs in with them. She was also in with a blue orp roo. I have a few of the chicks that appear to have a rose comb, but one is solid black with the rose comb and the other is blue. Neither have any signs of any other color at this time. If they were from a blue x gold laced wouldn't they show different feathering then the rest of the chicks?
I have never had any other combs show up in any of my other pure orp hatches so I can only believe these are from the wyandotte. But the two different colors has me puzzled. Does anyone know what the blue x gold laced cross should look like?
All other characteristics are good - dark eye, no yellow skin etc..
